Airavatha

Shot inside the Airavatha Volvo Bus on my way back to Bangalore from Tirupathi with a group of friends in July 2007. It is a pleasure travelling in these buses which is a part of the high end luxury fleet of the Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC). The Airavatha buses are air-conditioned and semi-sleeper. The comfort and the plush interiors along with audio and video facility makes it a pleasant experience.

To give an Idea of the performance this beauty cruises at speeds of 100 - 120 Kmph on the Indian Highways. The speed cannot be gauged while sitting inside. It feels like you are travelling at 50-60 Kmph, but in reality the speed is almost double. Also the breaking system and the shocks are exceptional. Ordinary KSRTC buses take about 5 1/2 - 6 hours to reach Tirupathi while the Airavatha Volvo cruises in around 4 - 4 1/2 hours. This tells the story.
