Bannerghatta Nature Walk

Conquered the Mountains - Celebration Time

I got up at 5 in the morning and left for Bannerghatta National Park. I was joined by two friends. We were to take part in a Nature Walk organised by the WWF ( World Wildlife Fund ). The walk began at 8:15 n went on till around 11:30. The highpoint of the walk was the view of a Tusker standing majestically on the mountains.

Brunch Time

A Nilghai feasting on the green shrubs..This one was very lovable n it allowed itself to be touched n pampered by many of us.

Climb to the Top

A Peninsular Agama ( If I remember right ) on its way to conquer the summit of the ant hill.

Balancing Act

A Monkey swinging on the Ant Hill.

Bewildered !!!

A Bison n its Calf (if I can call it so) look with astonishment at us. I missed the Calf during the walk. Got to know about it only when I saw this photo.

Masculine Body

This Bison here with its perfect musular body was an obstruction to our walk for abt 10 mins. A forest guard tried to make it move way by talking to it in Kannada , wud u beleive it, but in vain. Finally the entire bunch of walkers unitedly moved ahead. The bison which was silent all this while, started calling out once we were past it.

Perching Atop

Couldnt get the intricate details of the bird with my camera. So thought of capturing just the dry branch n the shadowed outline of the bird, oops dunno the name, against the blue sky as the backdrop.

Mushrooms!!

A line of mushrooms, basking in the sunlight.

Shying Away

This was at the end of the walk. Though the picture is not so sharp in focus, I like it for the look on the deer's face n the wonderful pair of horns.

Stamping its Authority

This huge Banyan tree outside the Horticulture Department,UAS - GKVK campus, had thousands of bee hives at one time. This was supposodely a Guinness world record. But today there was not even a single bee hive. I guess the heavy pre monsoon showers on friday was the cause for a bee free banyan tree.

Convergence

I had gone to my mothers office, University of Agricultural Sciences - GKVK campus, to pick her back from work. I spent about 20 minutes capturing a few shots of the campus . This is one of them. The whole campus is spread over 600 acres and is so very calm n serene. A railway line runs through the campus. This one where the railway track & the walking track meet caught my eyes.

Nandi Hills

Serpentine Roads

Went to Nandi Hills with my fren. The drive through the golden quadrilateral n up the hills was too good. All in all it was a memorable visit being my first time there.

Birds Eye View

Sixty kms north of Bangalore is the summer resort called Nandi Hills. Also known as Nandidurga, it was one of the summer retreats of Tipu Sultan. Nandi Hills was popular with the British too who built bungalows and laid out gardens here. Today of course, it's a hot favourite among Bangaloreans who find this an ideal get-away for weekends. The 1478-m high Nandi Hills is the originating point of many rivers.Around the Nandi Hills are several smaller hills, which can be visited on foot.

Living on the Edge

Tippu Drop 600 m high cliff face where according to legend, condemned prisoners were pushed to their death. On misty days when the wind wails in the trees, you can almost hear the blood-curdling screams of the prisoners as they met their gruesome end. But look down on a clear day and the view is inspiring

Sun Shine - Peek-a-Boo

Shot from under a tree while lying down on the soft lush green grass, after exploring the hills.

Fear in the Eye

Motherly affection!! Exists in all living creatures.
There are thousands of monkeys on the Nandi Hills. I heard this very interesting piece of trivia from a very young tourist guide. He told me that there was not even a single damn monkey in Nandi hills...But the moment Indira Gandhi visited the hills in 1971, the monkeys from nowhere sprung up n grew into a strong sizable number.

Tiger in Nandi

A group of young boys carry these stuffed toys n make a living by giving them to tourists who want to get photographed with them . Cost - Rs 50, btw the guys didnt charge me a pie cos they thought we were a team of journalists ....

Scenic View

We had this little trek on the hills, through the thorny bushes led by a young boy who makes a living by taking visitors around the hills.

Free Fall

I guess its a wonderful experience to just fall freely in the air. I can never imagine to do this cos I had a very horrible experience just this Friday on the wheel in Fun World.

Final Shot

As my friend had to reach Bangalore by 7, we decided to leave at around 5:30. I was really reluctant to leave without witnessing the sunset on the hills. Anyways by the time we hit the highway back home, the sun too was retiring for the day. Seeing this wonderful scene, I stopped on the road n I should say I chose the right spot to shoot - The Palm Tree

Exploring the World

The weather was chill with a consistent drizzle . When I woke up lazily at 7 AM ruing the fact that I missed my morning jog, my eyes caught hold of my cute 2 year old neice Aishwarya gazing outside the window. The sight was spectacular and I rushed to get hold of my camera.

Hill Stop

This was during my Drive to Thirumala Hills, last December. I dont remember the name of the place, but this was somewhere close to Tirupathi. The train had made a halt maybe because of another approaching train.

Change - The only constant in the world.

Like the changing seasons, the life of every human being oscillates to n fro between happiness n sorrow. It all depends on how we face these ups n downs. Life is like a cricket match n the different situations are like the balls bowled which we just got to face as they come.

On Duty

Summer season !! Makes things go so much out of control..both inside the house n outside..
As things didnt go as planned for the weekend, I went to the Hebbal Lake Park in the evening as I had never clicked there. This park is crowded with people in the evenings with children, families, old people n love struck couples.
The subject in the snap is my friend Srinivas who has given quite n elegant pose.

Hand of God

Caption inspired by the infamous Hand of God goal by Dieogo Marodona in the 1986 World Cup Football quarter finals against England. I liked the way its come out with my finger pointing towards the sun.

Make Hay While The Sun Shines

The two sheep nibbling away the lush green grass as if today is the end caught my attention.

Injured, yet Attractive

Handicapped with a missing petal, yet the beauty remains.

Sky Blue

The blue evening sky in the backdrop looked beautiful. Posted by Hello

Hide n Seek

The sun hides behind the trees. The generator of the natural solar energy on which life survives stands humbly alongside with the man made unreliable electrical energy standing tall in a commanding manner. True, sometimes man considers himself superor to nature.

Heading Homewards

After a long day , heading back to the nest. Wonder if the animals n birds have something like weekends n holidays in their lives.

Stay Connected

Bharath Sanchar Nigam Limited ( BSNL ) office located in Sanjaynagar. This one was shot from my friends terrace whose house is located just in front of the office.

In Deep Introspection

My friend called me up - Saturday Morning - to ask me to accompany him to one of his friends house who has love birds as pets.
This one here looks as if its thinking ' What am I doing here ? ' . Its not an easy job keeping these lovely birds. A lot of care n pain has to be taken in regards to the food , shelter n cleanliness. Anyways, if anyone interested in keeping these as pets, do lemme know

Misunderstanding

Looks like the two birds have had a fight.

Dual Vision

The birds have made up n ready to face the world jointly. Sharing their vision...
