Walking down the Memory Lane

Anna,

Thamma schoolu yaavadu? Swalpa heladre olledu...now that I know you went to MES and UV, it'll help put things into better perspective if you give us the name of your school (I hope you don't mind).

Lo, school photos bahala ordinary aagide (by your standards). Special enu ninu chamaks eke haakila? I mean, they are not bad BUT I thought you would do some masala tricks to juice them up. What I mean to say is that the hallmark of a good photographer is to take something mundane and present it in a stylish manner. If I have to give an analogy, your friend Deepa was trying to compress nine years of her school memories into a few paragraphs. If you could, plz let her know that as an aspiring journalist, that's what she'll encounter on a day-to-day basis -- how best to compress all the images, the opinions, the thoughts, the experiences that she'll encounter into a few paragraphs. And if she enters broadcast journalism, the challenge gets that much tougher -- she'll have to say everything in a few sound bites.

Anyways, I admire your generation for its open mindedness, its confidence and its can-do mentality. Great stuff, maga!

Best,

Raki

Lo Maga,

Nai photo nodilla nenne...I think my connnection had some probs. But, that photo is cute kano. Maybe, I was a little too harsh in crictiquing the school photos.

I retract....the photos are good (no surprises).

Did you have a look at the Deccan Herald website, in which they are asking for contributions from amateur photographers?

Best,

Raki

Hello Deepa,

To be frank, for me it's a 'mental' thing -- I'd rather much enjoy going through your blogs (for eg -- KLG is such a talented guy. Only trouble is that he doesn't understand it and make attempts to improve on it) and add my tid-bits from time to time.

Best,

Raki
