Walk to Tirupathi
After a true heroic solitary walk to the Thirumala Hills in February 2004 defying his age, my dad this time round decided to take the more wiser option of going on an organised padayatra to the Tirupathi Tirumala Devasthana.
Around 60 people from different parts of Bangalore set out in organised groups on the afternoon of November 5 2006 and assembled in ITI. With a detailed agenda encompassing all the aspects of the 300 Kilometer walk, ranging from the time to begin the walk each day, places to halt, food menu for each day et al , the walk began on November 6. Later I came to know that my uncle (mom's brother) too was one of the walkers. This was a pleasant co-incidence for my dad and all of us.
The 60 member group reached the pilgrim town on November 13 and after the darshan were back to Bangalore by bus on the 14th of November.
Someday I want to walk the same distance with a group of friends . Once again Hats off Daddy!!!
